Mary Manley: Barter Books

Mary is the founder of Barter Books, Alnwick – one of the largest secondhand bookshops in Britain. Her talk will cover the history of Barter Books – including the business partnership with her husband, Stuart – which began in 1991 with a budget of £4,000 and an 800 sq ft space and grew to an 8,000 sq ft shop attracting over 300,000 customers a year.
